Laura Ingalls Wilder
is a native Wisconsinite

Who doesn't love little "Half Pint?" Or how about her father Pa Ingalls? I'm proud to say Laura Ingalls Wilder was born in my state! More specifically, in Pepin County, Wisconsin. Ingalls Wilder is the author of the classic "Little House" books, but growing up, many of us remember watching the popular TV series with Melissa Gilbert and Michael Landon. Laura Elizabeth Ingalls was born in a log cabin seven miles north of Pepin, Wisconsin, on February 7, 1867. Her first book, "Little House in the Big Woods" is full of stories about her childhood years here in the Big Woods of Wisconsin.
